Owners very nice. Right on the beach and very quiet. Good location to walk for dinnerAnd we had the best seats on the house
Reserved a smoking/pet friendly room as I have 2 dogs. Was not informed of pet fee before I arrived but I happily paid it as I was glad to have my dogs with me. Parking was insane!! But all in all I would stay here again to be close to the lake and all the shops
It was amazing to be so close to the lake and shops but my bed was broken a guy next door smoked pot and smelled my room up so bad it caused headaches and it was non smoking rooms. Plus my last night here the other side of my room the people were partying till3:30 am not the nicest rooms . Over all not the greatest room for the money we spent. Could of got one of the nicer hotels cheaper for the same amount .I recommend that you do your home work first.
Booked a mini holiday back in July before the kids went back to school; originally, I had booked one room through Expedia.ca for $110 a night. Ended up needing an additional room - so I called the hotel, rather than booking online. When I called, I spoke with a lady and explained I needed another room, and without a kitchen was fine - as we just needed one for snacks for the kids. She stated it would be $90 a night for the additional room.Upon check-in I was told I was upgraded so both rooms would have a kitchenette. I explained it wasn't needed, she was persistent, so didn't think anything of it but thanked her (as I've never been told I was "upgraded" and charged for it). When I reviewed the bill, I noticed I was charged $110 x4 - rather than $110 x2 + $90 x2. When I asked, she stated I had the kitchenette in both rooms, and I was already getting a special rate of $110 (they are regular priced $115) I explained I didn't request two kitchenettes, but rather she insisted and she stated "when I saw you, I knew you wouldn't like the other room. So I upgraded you to the kitchenette suite."Terrible way to run a business, anyone who isn't driving a truck is likely to have this happen to them. So because of this, I am rating a 2/5.Now, if I didn't feel like this place was a money grab, it would have gotten a 4/5, so here is my review on the actual facility; the rooms are tiny, they fit two double beds, and a TV with a decent size kitchen along the side - the fridge was full sized, which was nice. The bathroom was a good side, no fan, which was strange. I wouldn't use the shower - looked like it needed a good clean. There wasn't a fitted sheet on the bed, or a mattress protector. The pillows weren't protected either, just one pillow case. The location is amazing, literally across the street from the lake. Walking distance to restaurants, pubs and there was an ice cream shop on either side of the hotel. I wouldn't return, based on the issue with room rates, but for anyone who's quoted full price and need a place to stay for the night, this wouldn't be the worst spot.
I would highly suggest a renovation. Looks like the set of an old fugitive type movie. Easy access to the beach however.
