Get there early. Especially if it's a beautiful summer day. Clean beach and a Sandy lake. Uncharacteristic of an Alberta lake but that's a good thing. Great summer get away. Must see
Beautiful lake - must visit place with family and friends. Great picnic spot, one enjoy boat raids and the surroundings are great. Any amount of time you can spend here.
Great place for family and friends to get together. Relatively clean, pay parking or you can park on the street, a couple blocks from the lake. Plenty of picnic tables and beach chairs. All round good time.
Pretty area along the lake and kept very tidy!!Some stores could be taken away and some added such as a "Fish&Chip" restaurant. Smell that wonderful fish&chips along the lake front would be amazing! Some hotels/motels could be painted on the outside and landscaped as well as a few could use some updating on the inside.Sylvan Lake definitely defines the look of community!
It's a beautiful park and beautiful lake. Good for swimming, and excellent for kids because the water is only a couple feet deep for a long ways out. I've come here my whole life, and it's always a nice place to swim and hang out. My only complaint is how crowded it gets on nice weekends, but that's just because people like it so much. On hot weekends in the summer, there are so many people on the beach that there's barely a place to sit, and you can't park within several blocks, so I go to Gull Lake instead which is not very far. Otherwise, I really like Sylvan. The green areas along the beach sometimes get a bit littered when it's busy, but usually it's well kept and has nice picnic areas and playgrounds. Plus there are many nice restaurants and ice cream shops along the beach as well. Overall a very nice place to visit.
